Comparisons will be made between current views on space and those of the Greeks. Focus will be given to the accomplishments of Pascal and others that contributed to our understanding of the properties of a vacuum. The role of the constancy of the speed of light in the determination of the “shape of space†(geometry) is discussed in context of the general theory of relativity.”
